Sole aid cargo crossing into Gaza reopens after 2-day closure: UN

UNITED NATIONS, June 9 (Xinhua) -- Israel has reopened the only cargo crossing into the Gaza Strip following a two-day closure that halted relief supplies, UN humanitarians said on Tuesday.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said the Kerem Shalom/Karem Abu Salem crossing, which was closed on Sunday, reopened on Tuesday. It was shut down reportedly after an Iranian missile attack on Israel on Sunday.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Monday called on Israel to reopen the vital humanitarian aid crossing.
