Dallas Cowboys watch party witnesses shoot-out

Oregon State News.Net - Tuesday 12th September, 2017

TEXAS, U.S. - Sunday night turned out to be a deadly time for a group of people gathered at a Dallas Cowboys watch party,

as they were gunned down by an apparent stranger.

Authorities in North Texas said that at least eight people were killed, including the suspect, after a shooting took place at a home in Plano, which is less than 20 miles northeast of Dallas.

The incident occurred at a suburban Dallas home, where a party was being held on Sunday afternoon for the Cowboys-vs.-Giants watch party.

Witnesses have said that a man, who was seen arguing with a woman outside the house earlier, allegedly barged into the house with an automatic weapon and started blasting.

Plano police spokesman David Tilley said that several police initially rushed to the scene after receiving reports of multiple gunshots.

However, when the first officer arrived and went inside the home, he confronted the suspected shooter.

Tilley said that the officer “engaged the suspect,” shooting and killing him after he took aim at the cop.

The officer is said to have managed to kill the suspect.

Police found seven partygoers dead and two others wounded.

One resident Crystal Sugg told the local media, “I seen a man argue with a woman. They were standing outside and they’re arguing. The woman was trying to go back in and as she was going back in the house, you seen the man pull out his gun and starting just releasing. He just started letting them go. It was an automatic. You could hear it go off multiple times, you could hear it just ring off.”

All of those killed in the incident were adults but the police have not released the names of the victims or the suspects.

Two others are believed to have been injured in the shooting.

Later, Tilly told the media, “I’ve been here all my life. I’ve never heard of anything like this.”

So far, Police have not stated a motive for the shooting or confirmed the details about the Dallas watch party.
